They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. For Smoky Mountain residents trash is not a treasure, it’s life.

Living in Manila’s largest dump site,the locals making their living from the trash,Working as a scavengers,some are searching for valuable garbage or making charcoal. The trash provides them shelter,playground for the kids and even used as food source for making a pagpag,
food scraps and meat leftovers from fast food restaurants recooked and sold to residents.
With no electricity,Water flow or medical care,the average live span in Smokey mountain is about 40′.
